ICS via Conex Makes It Simple to Manage Your Advance Security Declarations (Import Control System – ICS) for Entry into the European Union!
PARIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nothing to declare? Surely not!
Suppliers from the other side of the world have had to face up to a new complex EU customs law since January 1, 2011. Transporters, or any other persons commissioned by them (importers or forwarders) have to make an advance declaration for all goods entering any point of European territory, whether by lorry, train, plane, boat, barge, etc.
Declarations which are incomplete or not made at all jam up the entire delivery chain and disrupt production, leading to unhappy customers and legal obligations, etc.
In every instance, the transporter is accountable for the information and will be held solely responsible by customs authorities for whatever he has on board.
As things stand in the customs union, even though the regulation is currently being transposed into national legislations, there are subtle differences in the practices of the 27 countries. This may complicate the declarations process.
A solution to this is ICS, Conex’s pan-European platform
To free transporters and logistics operators from having to deal with each European country’s specific administrative procedures, Conex has developed a single solution for making and sending declarations to all the customs authorities in question. Just one data-entry interface needs to be filled in, and the information is immediately checked and sent to the customs authorities of the country concerned.
Conex is currently one of the very few companies offering real coverage of Europe. Its solution is already used by several major operators in Asia and America.
No more legal or technical headaches: everything is delegated to an external expert in dematerialization and customs law.
ICS via conex is:
• A legal solution which ensures that declarants’ ICS declarations are compliant, no matter where the goods enter Europe.
• A technical solution which communicates with customs authorities’ information systems in all EU countries. ICS via conex provides declarants with a single interface, and manages the specific adjustments for customs in each country.
The solution is available in Web mode and full EDI.
