IQMS Customer Plastikos, Inc. Wins Plastic News’ Processor of the Year Award
PASO ROBLES, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--IQMS customer, Plastikos, Inc., a custom injection molding company based in Pennsylvania, is the proud recipient of Plastic News’ 2010 Processor of the Year award. Plastikos, Inc. has specialized in molding electrical connectors for 22 years and recently made a major move into the field of medical parts, adding 50 medical molds and a Class 10,000 clean room in 2010. Plastic News staff members presented the award to Plastikos at their annual executive forum in Summerlin, Nev. on March 8.
“We are very honored, excited and proud to be named Plastic News’ 2010 Processor of the Year and we know that IQMS will be there to support us as new and exciting opportunities unfold for Plastikos and Micro Mold.”
IQMS, an innovator in the design and development of manufacturing ERP software, has been working with Plastikos since 2000, helping them streamline their processes and increase productivity. In addition to Plastikos, IQMS provides software to the two other companies in the Finalist Circle, as well as the recipient of the Excellence in Customer Relations Award, DeKalb Molded Plastics. IQMS’ EnterpriseIQ single-source database software is used by more Processor of the Year winners than any other software.
“We are thrilled that one of our clients, Plastikos, Inc., took home the Processor of the Year award,” said Randy Flamm, president and founder of IQMS. “Nothing proves the value of our software more than the continued success of our clients being recognized as Best in Class manufacturers. Our clients consistently outperform the competition. The fact that all three finalists are IQMS clients is just icing on the cake. ”
Plastikos’ continual strive for excellence helped them prevail over two other finalists: medical molder Atek Plastics in Texas and custom molder Steinwall Inc. in Minnesota. The finalists were evaluated on their performance in seven areas: financial performance, quality, customer relations, employee relations, environmental performance, industry/public service and technological innovations. Plastikos’ core strength comes from their engineering mindset and focus on continually improving their processes. Plastikos credits their success in large part to their use of IQMS’ manufacturing enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
“Plastikos and Micro Mold have relied on IQMS for the past 10 years to provide the ERP solution to enable us to effectively monitor and manage our core business functions. Over that timeframe, we have experienced significant growth in our customer base as well as in the complexity of our business. The flexibility and scalability of IQMS has supported that growth,” said Philip Katen, general manager and president of Plastikos, Inc. “We are very honored, excited and proud to be named Plastic News’ 2010 Processor of the Year and we know that IQMS will be there to support us as new and exciting opportunities unfold for Plastikos and Micro Mold.”
