Mesa Airlines Named #1 Regional Airline in 2010 for On-Time Arrivals, Baggage and Complaints
Dépèche transmise le 9 mars 2011 par Business Wire
PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mesa Air Group, Inc. is pleased to announce Mesa Airlines ranked #1 among US regional airlines in on-time arrival, fewest mishandled bags, and fewest consumer complaints for 2010, according to the US Department of Transportation Air Travel Consumer Report. The DOT indicators are the industry standard measures of performance, and Mesa is proud to earn top rank among regional airlines in 2010 for each area that comprises coveted Triple Crown recognition.
“We would like to thank all of our people for their outstanding performance in 2010. We are delighted to have this hard work recognized through the objective information compiled by the DOT, as we strive to provide the best regional airline experience for our customers.”
Mesa’s 2010 on-time performance was anticipated, as the company had finished each quarter of 2010 as the top regional airline in on-time arrivals. The performance in the fourth quarter for flight completion and on-time arrivals among regional carriers was impressive in light of significant weather challenges in the Midwest and Northeast.
Mesa Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Ornstein said: “We would like to thank all of our people for their outstanding performance in 2010. We are delighted to have this hard work recognized through the objective information compiled by the DOT, as we strive to provide the best regional airline experience for our customers.”
Rankings are based on statistics for over 9.3 million passengers carried in 2010 on flights operated by Mesa as US Airways Express and United Express, and independently as go! Mokulele in Hawaii. Mesa Airlines, having successfully emerged from bankruptcy last week, believes the DOT statistics demonstrate its commitment to offer customers reliable air transportation. With strong passenger loads on go! Mokulele, multi-year agreements with United Airlines and US Airways and demonstrated sound operational performance, Mesa is well positioned to compete for future growth opportunities.
Mesa currently operates 76 aircraft with 450 daily departures to 94 cities, 38 states, the District of Columbia, and Mexico. It flies as US Airways Express and United Express under agreements with those airlines and independently as go! Mokulele in Hawaii. Mesa was founded by Larry and Janie Risley in New Mexico in 1982.
