The company is displaying its Electroptical Cable Assembly, a new and innovative copper-to-fiber optic transceiver, to attendees of OFC/NFOEC 2011 (Optical Fiber Communication Conference and National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference) opening on March 8^th. This gathering, being held at the Los Angeles Convention Center, is the world’s largest global conference and exhibition for optical communications and networking professionals.

Traditionally, copper has been the signal transmission vehicle of choice among design engineers in both the military and commercial aviation operating environments. However, the weight, size and bandwidth limitations of copper present challenges for the design engineers of today.
