Werner Enterprises’ Executive to Address Shanghai Conference on U.S. Transportation Issues

OMAHA, Neb.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Derek Leathers, chief operating officer of Werner Enterprises (NASDAQ: WERN) and president of Werner Global Logistics, is currently in China where he is reviewing Werner’s domestic transportation operations in the country. During his time in China, Leathers will be taking part in two important industry events.
On Thursday, March 31, 2011, Leathers will be speaking at an event sponsored by the AmCham Shanghai’s Logistics and Transportation Committee. As the keynote speaker, he will update business leaders, government officials and industry representatives on the current state of the U.S. transportation market and its impact on international shippers. Key issues to be addressed include: the U.S. transportation economic supply and demand factors, the health and competitive environment of the U.S. trucking and rail industries, transportation rates, regulatory challenges and sustainability initiatives.
Leathers will also be attending Werner Global Logistics’ five-year anniversary celebration on Friday, April 1, 2011, at the company’s Shanghai office. When it opened in March of 2006, Werner Global Logistics was the first company from North America to be granted the combined NVOCC, Freight Forwarding license in Shanghai, China.
