LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Los Angeles Times Travel Show is set to return to the Los Angeles Convention Center January 27-29, 2012, marking its 14th year of combining The Times trusted editorial expertise and the unsurpassed marketing clout of the Los Angeles Times Media Group’s (LATMG) portfolio to create the largest travel show in the West.
“We will be undertaking a campaign that puts more than $2 million of promotional muscle behind the 2012 Travel Show”
“We will be undertaking a campaign that puts more than $2 million of promotional muscle behind the 2012 Travel Show,” said The Times Vice President, Advertiser Marketing and Events, Anna Magzanyan. “Exhibitors and sponsors will benefit immensely as we deploy across our print, digital, mobile and direct mail products, as well as TV, radio and outdoor.”
With LATMG’s products including LA, Los Angeles Times Magazine, latimes.com, alternative weekly Brand X, Times Community News and Spanish-language Hoy, reaching approximately 5.2 million adults in the Southern California marketplace, and the added might of Tribune Direct’s multi-channel capabilities, the 2012 Travel Show is expected to draw more than 20,000 attendees.
Marking a first for the Travel Show, The Times will work with MSE Management, Inc. to produce and program a Trade Day, specifically catering to the needs of travel industry professionals with custom travel trade-based programming, followed by a late-afternoon preview of the show floor for industry attendees. Scheduled for Friday, January 27th, the Trade Day will be included at no additional cost to exhibitors and sponsors. In addition, global event management leader IMG will produce the consumer-focused weekend event which will showcase tour operators, destinations, various modes of transportation and recreation, as well as related products and services from around the world.
In an exclusive Southern California appearance, best-selling author, TV and radio host, and America’s leading authority on European travel, Rick Steves is confirmed to speak both Saturday, January 28th and Sunday, January 29th. Steves will join The Times' renowned Travel staff scheduled to appear, including Catharine Hamm, Christopher Reynolds, and Chris Erskine, alongside a host of celebrities, travel personalities and industry aficionados.
The L.A. Convention Center is geographically accessible to the largest base of potential attendees, compared to any competitive Southern California travel-related event, and its five-acre show floor -- the largest West of the Mississippi -- can host more exhibitors and sponsors looking to reach the largest number of diverse destination seekers, conduct one-on-one consultations and accommodate any number of creative experiential activations.
Incentives for exhibitors and sponsors are available until April 30, 2011. Contact [email protected] or 1-877-494-1691 for more information and pricing. A detailed FAQ can be found at http://events.latimes.com/travelshow/exhibitors.
