Americans fascinated with Royal Wedding, but most will watch from afar reveals Skyscanner
EDINBURGH, Scotland--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Since its announcement, talk of the Royal wedding has filled the pages and screens of U.S media, but travel comparison site Skyscanner.com reveals that the overwhelming interest is not translating in to travel, leaving most Americans to watch from home.
In a comparison of travel searches pre and post wedding announcement, Skyscanner found that Americans rank low on the list with only a slight increase in flights to London. With so many Americans watching from home, Skyscanner has compiled a list of hot spots to watch the much-anticipated royal celebration.
Miami
National Hotel Miami Beach will host a royal affair in honor of the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton. Hosted in the Blues Bar, guests will have the opportunity to view the event on a large screen while enjoying a traditional full English breakfast featuring fried eggs, English-style sausage, rashers of crispy fried bacon, browned mushrooms, black pudding and more.
Dallas
At Hotel St. Germain, the Royal Wedding Watch will begin with a four-course gourmet meal and screening of The Queen on April 28th. On wedding day, overnight guests of the hotel will enjoy a full English breakfast as they watch the event comfortably in bed. The special day will end with a six-course wedding supper and screening of The King’s Speech. The menu will include modern versions of some classic favorites along with a vintage champagne cocktail.
New York
The Waldorf Astoria in New York seems to be offering one of the most extravagant royal package around as they rent out the hotel’s Royal Suite, the former residence of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. This package would allow you to invite 40 of your nearest and dearest to celebrate the royal wedding in style with passed hors d’oeuvres and clear beverages. This one-of-a-kind package is only available by calling (212) 355-3000.
San Diego & Santa Monica
Loews Hotels are offering the “Royal Wedding” package that will include a two-night deluxe stay, wedding cake amenity and wedding favor upon check-in, wake-up call the morning of the wedding and a traditional English breakfast delivered to the room along with a champagne toast to enjoy during the royal nuptials. Package is available at Loews locations across the U.S. and Canada.
