Mobissimo Publishes Airfare Alerts on Facebook
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Travel search engine Mobissimo (www.mobissimo.com) has launched a travel dashboard on Facebook that allows anyone with a Facebook page to create personalized fare indexes with fare alerts that track airfare price changes.
“Mobissimo’s fare alerts come just in time to find good deals on summer travel in a year when the improving economy has increased demand for cheap travel, and when fewer routes and high fuel prices make bargains hard to find”
With Mobissimo’s Facebook app (http://apps.facebook.com/mobissimo), users can search and monitor airfares pulled from hundreds of different travel suppliers across the web from their home airport to the destinations of their choice, with alerts that appear directly in their Facebook news feed.
Flanked by a green, red or yellow arrow, Mobissimo’s fare alerts indicate when a fare increases (red alert), stays the same (yellow alert), or decreases in price (green alert), to identify any changes simply and easily and allow travellers to book quickly.
Mobissimo’s Facebook travel dashboard also shows an index of fares found by other users with the same outbound airport. In addition, users can create custom fare indexes listing the cheapest destinations from their home airport.
“Mobissimo’s fare alerts come just in time to find good deals on summer travel in a year when the improving economy has increased demand for cheap travel, and when fewer routes and high fuel prices make bargains hard to find,” said Adam Meron, Mobissimo’s VP of Operations.
For travel companies that depend heavily on Google (GOOG) for traffic, Mobissimo provides an alternative to reach Facebook’s over 500 million active users, nearly 70 percent of which are located outside the United States.
“The profile of Facebook users worldwide is a perfect match for Mobissimo’s international focus and global reach,” said Beatrice Tarka, Mobissimo’s CEO and co-founder. “We give our users access to airfares and hotel properties that no other travel company provides in a single search. With our Facebook integration, we’ve made it easy for travellers to get the full picture of global travel offers, to find the information they need, and personalize it without leaving Facebook.”
