Mother’s Day Shoppers Seek Out Personalized Gifts This Year
DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--This year Mother’s Day shoppers are looking for more personal gifts, according to a recent survey from FedEx Office, an operating company of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX). In fact, 79 percent of Americans polled say they plan to give a Mother’s Day gift that has been personalized in some way to match the tastes and style of the recipient.
The survey also found that 40 percent will be customizing an item commonly available in stores to make a unique gift. Another 39 percent say they will give a gift that is completely personalized and original, like a photo book or homemade item.
Despite this shift towards giving unique and personal gifts to Moms, some continue to struggle in their efforts to find the right present. Challenges reported by those surveyed include lack of money (40 percent), lack of time (45 percent) and lack of creativity or ideas (28 percent).

FedEx Office has a variety of online and in-store solutions for shoppers wanting to create personalized Mother’s Day gifts. Also, many of the online offerings feature easy-to-use templates that make customizing gifts effortless.
- Try FedEx Office Design & Print Center for monogrammed stationery, such as note cards and custom sticky notes. Customers can also design and order personalized t-shirts and calendars. Free seven-business day delivery is included with each order, and three-business day rush delivery is available as well.
- With FedEx Office® Photo, create custom photo books and other gift items online, including mugs, blankets, water bottles, tote bags, scarves and more. Orders for most gift items can be placed today for standard shipping and by May 2 for overnight delivery just in time for Mother’s Day. - Use FedEx Office Online Book Publishing to create a book in hardcover or paperback featuring Mom’s favorite recipes, the family history and more. These books feature professional, bookstore-quality printing, binding and covers, and are shipped in seven to 10 days.
- Visit a FedEx Office retail location for greeting cards, photo printing and enlargements, and photo prints on canvas or watercolor paper. In addition, FedEx Office offers convenient packing and shipping options for those that plan to ship their gifts to Mom -- a common practice according to a related survey from FedEx Corp. released earlier this week.
