OSI Systems Receives Approximately $2.8 Million Contract from Asian Civil Aviation Authority for Advanced Baggage Inspection Systems
HAWTHORNE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--OSI Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:OSIS), a vertically-integrated provider of specialized electronic products for critical applications in the Security and Healthcare industries, today announced that its security division, Rapiscan Systems, has been awarded orders for approximately $2.8 million to provide state of the art baggage and parcel X-ray inspection systems to a civil aviation authority in Asia. The systems to be provided include Rapiscan’s high speed MVXR 5000 Explosives Detection System for screening of checked passenger baggage and Rapiscan’s 600 series X-ray scanners, used for screening of carry-on passenger baggage.

The Rapiscan MVXR 5000 is capable of screening up to 1,500 bags per hour and features advanced matrixing and networking capabilities. The Rapiscan 600 series carry-on baggage screening solution has been deployed at airports worldwide and features Rapiscan’s proprietary TARGET threat detection software for rapid detection of potential threats.
