RF Controls’ ITCS Showcased at IBM’s Institute for Electronic Government
ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--RF Controls recently supplied its Intelligent Tracking and Control System (ITCS®) to IBM (NYSE: IBM) for use in IBM’s Institute for Electronic Government (IEG) briefing center.
“The installation of RF Controls’ patent-pending Intelligent Tracking and Control System provides a new dimension to our customer briefings by demonstrating added, cost effective location capabilities that can be derived from passive RFID tag technologies.”
The IBM IEG Briefing Center, located in the heart of Washington, DC, is designed for domestic and international public sector executives managing the transformation of their organizations in a rapidly changing world. Since the Center’s establishment in 1996, over 64,000 visitors from more than 120 countries have engaged in “thought leadership” discussions on the most important issues facing public sector organizations today. Building on these experiences, the Center has unique insights to share on the best practices of innovation and transformation. As a facet of the Center’s extensive resources, selected technologies and systems are showcased, with broad applications context, to help visitors realize the capabilities of innovative technologies and systems, all with a clear focus on business process transformation.
RF Controls’ patent-pending Intelligent Tracking and Control System (ITCS®) is based on sophisticated military tracking technology and “smart antennas” and provides real time, 3D location of items or assets which have been tagged with inexpensive, standards compliant passive UHF RFID tags. ITCS can accurately locate tags’ locations down to a few feet, and reliably ascertain direction of movement, tag by tag. The unique combination of features embodied in ITCS has transformed the market’s expectations of the capabilities of passive UHF RFID systems, and enables end-users to address latent business process issues and improve process efficiency in an unprecedented way. ITCS products are fully compliant with FCC, UL, CE and RoHS regulations.
RF Controls is an IBM Business Partner and ITCS products are integrated into solutions for end-users by IBM.
Mr. David White, IBM’s IEG Director, noted “The installation of RF Controls’ patent-pending Intelligent Tracking and Control System provides a new dimension to our customer briefings by demonstrating added, cost effective location capabilities that can be derived from passive RFID tag technologies.”
Chris Hook, VP Business Development at RF Controls stated “RF Controls is delighted to be supporting IBM at the IEG, to showcase ITCS in an environment which shows the practical utility of solutions for business process transformation. We value our relationship with IBM, noting in particular their extensive capabilities which support all facets of integrating ITCS into solutions for their clients.”
