Sojern Announces New CEO
OMAHA, Neb.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sojern, the leading travel data and content company, today announced the appointment of Mark Rabe as Chief Executive Officer. Founder Gordon Whitten, who has served as CEO since the company’s inception in 2007, will remain with the company focusing on next generation partnerships and product expansion plans. He will also maintain his position on the Board of Directors. Whitten is a former VP of New Product Initiatives at Intuit and a previous regional winner of the Ernst & Young Technology Entrepreneur of the Year award.
“I have spent my career growing successful digital businesses, and I couldn’t be more excited to be joining Sojern at this stage of its evolution”
“I’m pleased and excited to introduce Mark as the new CEO of Sojern. Mark’s success running businesses for Yahoo! – both domestically and abroad - make him a perfect fit for our next stage at Sojern,” said Gordon Whitten, Sojern Founder. “Having Mark on board will give me the opportunity to focus on our rapidly growing new product and partner initiatives. Together, we plan to grow Sojern to become the number one travel media and solutions company worldwide.”
A long time Yahoo! veteran, Rabe was most recently the Managing Director of UK & Ireland where he was responsible for the company’s largest international market. Prior to that, he led Yahoo!’s efforts to grow relationships with the largest global advertisers and agencies as Vice President of Global Sales. Rabe came to Yahoo! via the Overture acquisition where he served as Vice President of Strategy & Operations.
“I have spent my career growing successful digital businesses, and I couldn’t be more excited to be joining Sojern at this stage of its evolution,” said Rabe, Sojern’s new CEO. “In just 3 years, Sojern has gone from concept to product to multi-million dollar business. I’m excited to build on Gordon’s success and scale Sojern into the largest digital platform for marketers who want to reach travelers across the globe.”
