Dépèche transmise le 12 avril 2011 par Business Wire
DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Transplace, a leading provider of transportation management services and logistics technology solutions, today announced the promotion of Fadra Norton to vice president of lean six sigma. Norton will be responsible for generating cost savings and streamlining operations for the third party logistics provider (3PL) and its broad range of customers.
“As our Lean Six Sigma program continues to expand with the full support of Transplace’s management, we will strive to work with customers to create efficiency and drive improvement throughout their operations. Our goal is to continue to offer support in bringing value to Transplace customers.”
“Fadra brings extensive industry knowledge and expertise to her leadership role and will drive the Lean Six Sigma program to achieve greater value and efficiency for our customers,” said Transplace President and CEO Tom Sanderson. “Fadra’s active, hands-on approach will give her the insight to further simplify processes and eliminate waste as she leads her team in continuous improvement projects within Transplace and for our customers.”
With twenty years of experience at Transplace and J.B. Hunt, Norton has held several positions including logistics analyst, general manager, director of accounts receivable and accounts payable, and, most recently, director of operations. As the new vice president of the Lean Six Sigma group, Norton will oversee a team of four Black Belts as they serve all of Transplace’s customers. Norton’s group will take a hands-on approach to projects, observing first-hand the day-to-day activities of operations in order to effectively identify opportunities to improve efficiency and eliminate non-value add steps.
“My career has really grown and blossomed at Transplace, and I am excited to move into my new role leading the Lean Six Sigma group to enable strategic process improvement,” said Norton. “As our Lean Six Sigma program continues to expand with the full support of Transplace’s management, we will strive to work with customers to create efficiency and drive improvement throughout their operations. Our goal is to continue to offer support in bringing value to Transplace customers.”
Transplace’s Lean Six Sigma program was established in March 2005 and has since been beneficial in providing Transplace with the right tools to make calculated decisions and drive waste out of processes. Lean Six Sigma equips Transplace and its customers with the right tools to maximize productivity by evaluating operations and determining the root cause of errors. As a result, Transplace and its customers have experienced significant cost savings and have gained a competitive advantage. In 2010, the Transplace Lean Six Sigma team delivered more than $12 million in Type I and Type II savings.
