Acorn Growth Companies Accepts Nominations for Seeds of Greatness Award
OKLAHOMA CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Acorn Growth Companies, a private equity firm that invests exclusively on the aerospace and defense industry, is seeking applications for the fifth annual Seeds of Greatness Award.
“I’m eager to review this year’s submissions, given the quality of nominees we had last year”
The Seeds of Greatness Award, which Acorn introduced in 2007, recognizes Oklahoma aerospace and defense companies, government agencies, teams, or individuals that have created cost savings or revenue enhancements through innovation. One public sector and one private sector awardee will be selected. Partners from Acorn Growth Companies and Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin will present the award during the Oklahoma Aerospace Summit and Expo in early June.
“We invite those who have taken note of an Oklahoma based employee or entity that is using innovative methods to improve business results to submit nominations,” stated Jeff Davis, partner at Acorn. “The entrepreneurial spirit extends throughout the small and large businesses in the aerospace and defense sector in Oklahoma. Employees are being impacted by budget cutbacks and program evolutions – we need to continue to recognize those who are improving business processes and capabilities."
“I’m eager to review this year’s submissions, given the quality of nominees we had last year,” commented Rick Nagel, partner at Acorn. “Both the private and public sectors have become more innovative as they work to increase their cost savings and build revenue.”
Nomination forms are accessible on the company’s website at www.acorngrowthcompanies.com. 2010 winners include: Oklahoma State University Multispectral Laboratories (UML) and Zivko Aeronautics, Inc. Previous recipients are: Pro-Fab, Inc., The Oklahoma Aerospace Institute, The Tulsa Technology Center, GAMI, Inc., First Wave Aviation and the Greater Oklahoma City Commerce and Oklahoma County.
