ITT Interconnect Solutions Deploys Dynamic 3-D Online Design Tool
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ITT Corporation’s Interconnect Solutions business has launched an online modeling tool that is expected to expedite customer feedback and accelerate product development for applications using its MKJ Trinity Series connectors. The online modeling tool has broad implications given the utilization of ITT’s connector products in a vast array of electronic devices – many in the industrial, medical, defense and aerospace fields – and builds upon ITT’s existing suite of web-based configuration technology.
“Our broad product range offers a unique combination of design, functionality and flexibility and suits numerous applications in multiple markets”
ITT’s online modeling tool allows design engineers to share virtual, three-dimensional drawings of connectors and other components using industry-standard CAD software.
“Our broad product range offers a unique combination of design, functionality and flexibility and suits numerous applications in multiple markets,” said Russell Paik, director of product management at ITT Interconnect Solutions. “Our new Trinity MKJ Series miniature circular connector 3-D modeling tool allows us to help our customers in the design engineering community accelerate product development, making it faster for them to evaluate potential connector solutions and provide feedback to ITT.”
The MKJ Series connectors are up to 70 percent lighter and up to 50 percent smaller than equivalent military standard circular interconnects, yet provide high durability and similar environmental performance. ITT’s web-based modeling service is available to registered users of the ITT Cannon website at www.ittcannon.com.
ITT connectors have been used in every space shuttle and have been included in NASA’s Mars Rover vehicle. This technology is widely used in military applications such as radios, headsets and GPS devices, as well as diagnostic medical equipment, such as in ultrasound machines, and in computers and handheld devices as well as a host of other highly-engineered and specialty applications.
ITT Interconnect Solutions, a business of ITT Corporation, is an international manufacturer and supplier of connectors including circular, rectangular, fiber optic, RF, power and high voltage, audio, PCMCIA, compact flash card, enclosures, cable assemblies, and application specific custom solutions. The Interconnect Solutions portfolio includes the brands Cannon, VEAM, and BIW. For more information on ITT Interconnect Solutions, please visit www.ittcannon.com.
