Pemco Adds Bill Meehan as CEO
TAMPA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Pemco World Air Services CEO Wake Smith announced today that he has appointed former Continental Airlines executive Bill Meehan to succeed him as CEO at Pemco, effective June 1. “I am pleased that Pemco has expanded to a point where we can attract a leader of Bill’s caliber to pilot the company in its next phase of growth,” said Smith. Meehan’s 27 year career at Continental included senior positions in technical operations before he was appointed as President and COO of Continental Micronesia. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of Airport Services for Continental Airlines.
“With the addition of our second hangar in Tampa and our regional aircraft MRO base in Cincinnati to our pre-existing maintenance and cargo conversion operations in Alabama and China, we need to bolster our senior team”
“With the addition of our second hangar in Tampa and our regional aircraft MRO base in Cincinnati to our pre-existing maintenance and cargo conversion operations in Alabama and China, we need to bolster our senior team,” Smith stated. “Bill will bring the seasoned tech ops management expertise we require to integrate those operations and to add to them hereafter.”
In Meehan’s view, “Pemco has become one of the world’s leading 3rd party MROs and cargo converters. It’s a pleasure to join a team on a roll as we plan for further expansion.”
Meehan will join Pemco President Kevin Casey in charting the future course for Pemco. Casey noted, “Adding Bill to the Pemco team is an opportunity we couldn’t pass up.” Smith will continue with Pemco in the role of Chairman, focusing on strategy and new ventures.
