RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The U.S. Air Force’s Electronic Systems Center Capabilities Integration Directorate (ESC/XR) has awarded Accenture (NYSE: ACN) a 24 -month, $17.2 million contract to conduct risk reduction and prototyping for advanced command and control services. The engagement focuses on developing advanced decision support services, information exchange and system interoperability. Prototype solutions will be designed to improve decision making in the command and control process and assist with risk reduction for the warfighter.
“We look forward to providing cutting-edge research to better support airmen who are engaged in difficult and critical missions.”
“Accenture is proud to have been selected by the U.S. Air Force to help improve command and control for air, space and cyberspace operations,” said Rich Ryan, Accenture’s Air Force account lead. “We look forward to providing cutting-edge research to better support airmen who are engaged in difficult and critical missions.”
Through Internet-based technology, the Accenture engagement will shorten the time needed to develop new modeling programs. The resulting systems will provide the U.S. Air Force with improved information management systems that supply commanders with the data needed for advanced planning and smarter decisions regarding battle management and war gaming.
The Air Force operations are based out of Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts. Work will be performed at Accenture’s locations in King of Prussia, PA; Camden, New Jersey; and Joplin, Missouri.
This contract award is the most recent win in a string of successful projects that highlight Accenture's work for the Department of Defense and Accenture's work for the U.S. Air Force.
