Acorn Growth Companies Announces Seeds of Greatness Award Recipients
OKLAHOMA CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Acorn Growth Companies, a private equity firm focused exclusively on aerospace and defense opportunities, announced the winners of its fifth annual Seeds of Greatness award. The Oklahoma Department of Commerce and CASS Polymers were the recipients of the public and private sector awards, respectively.
“This year we recognize the Oklahoma Department of Commerce for its outstanding work associated with the 21st Century Quality Jobs incentive program”
Through the Seeds of Greatness award, Acorn honors Oklahoma-based aerospace and defense companies, government agencies, teams, or individuals creating a significant impact toward cost savings or revenue enhancements through innovation.
“This year we recognize the Oklahoma Department of Commerce for its outstanding work associated with the 21st Century Quality Jobs incentive program,” commented Jeff Davis, Partner at Acorn. “Innovation came through collaboration with the Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce as the Department of Commerce worked tirelessly along side others to develop a strong program to recruit businesses considering Oklahoma as a place to open or expand. That success is showcased by Boeing’s decision to relocate hundreds of engineering jobs to Oklahoma.”
“We selected CASS Polymers, Inc. as this year’s private sector award recipient,” stated Rick Nagel, Partner at Acorn, “to recognize its innovative work in improving their proprietary formulations for composite and metal-bonded structures. We also recognize their continued growth and commitment to remaining headquartered in Oklahoma as they have attracted capital, supporting their growth both organically and through acquisitions.”
CASS Polymers develops and markets of a diverse line of more than 300 specialty adhesives, coatings, prototyping composites and tooling compounds.
Partners Jeff Davis and Rick Nagel, along with Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin, presented the award at the 2011 Oklahoma Aerospace Summit and Expo.
