Copa Airlines Goes Mobile
DULUTH, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Copa Airlines (NYSE: CPA) announced that it is making check-in faster and easier for its passengers with the launch of mobile check-in and boarding pass delivery from NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR), the leading provider of self-service travel solutions.
“The launch of m.copaair.com puts Copa Airlines in the forefront of airline mobile web services in Latin America”
Copa travelers can now visit m.copaair.com, a mobile-optimized site, to check flight status and timetables, as well as check-in for their flight. An electronic boarding pass is then delivered to their mobile device, allowing them to bypass the check-in counter and proceed directly to security. NCR, which already provides self-service kiosks for Copa, is also integrating web check-in capability, so passengers who choose to check-in on their PC can then receive a mobile boarding pass delivered to their handset.
“The launch of m.copaair.com puts Copa Airlines in the forefront of airline mobile web services in Latin America,” said Diana Mizrachi-Kopel, Director of Customer Experience for Copa Airlines. “This technology contributes to our goal of continuous enhancement of the customer travel experience, giving passengers practical tools to make their travel more convenient and hassle-free. Based on positive customer feedback and higher than expected initial usage, we are well on our way to reaching that goal.”
Since deploying NCR mobi-web™ and NCR mobi-pass™ in April, 2011, customer usage has steadily increased and Copa expects that number will continue to climb.
“Extending check-in to mobile underscores Copa’s focus on providing superior customer service to travelers who increasingly want greater convenience and control over their journey,” said Owen Wild, vice president of marketing, NCR Travel. “With the most widely deployed mobile check-in application worldwide, NCR is committed to helping Copa smoothly and seamlessly deliver the best self-service experience to its customers.”
