Exostar to Deliver Enhanced Authentication to Supplier Portal for Northrop Grumman Corporation
HERNDON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Exostar, whose cloud-based solutions enable secure, cost-effective business-to-business collaboration, today announced it has been chosen by Northrop Grumman to issue and maintain the public key infrastructure (PKI) digital certificates that will allow the company to control access to its supplier portal.
“Forward-thinking enterprises understand the importance and the impact of better protecting their critical systems, applications and intellectual property against advanced persistent threats by migrating from basic user ID/password access to two-factor authentication. However, the time, complexity, and resource requirements to do so can be daunting”
Individuals worldwide who conduct business with Northrop Grumman via the portal will require Medium Level of Assurance (MLOA) hardware certificates issued via Exostar’s hosted Federated Identity Service (FIS) offering. Exostar has a demonstrated track record with FIS, extensive Aerospace & Defense experience and a robust community network.
Deployment of FIS provides:
- A standardized export control process, with citizenship of supplier personnel recorded by Exostar prior to certificate issuance, directly supporting International Traffic in Arms Regulations.
- A scalable solution that minimizes risk and maximizes efficiency. Because FIS is a managed service, Exostar handles everything from supplier on-boarding, training, and support to complete lifecycle management of certificates. Exostar has issued nearly 20,000 software certificates for customers in 36 countries, so companies and their suppliers receive a consistently excellent end-to-end user experience from a proven performer.
- Participation in Exostar’s FIS SAME-ID (Secure Access across Multiple Enterprises) program. Suppliers can leverage FIS’s MLOA certificates for interactions with Government agencies and other A&D firms that recognize credentials cross-certified with CertiPath and the Federal PKI Bridge. As a result, suppliers realize a significant return on their investment.
“Forward-thinking enterprises understand the importance and the impact of better protecting their critical systems, applications and intellectual property against advanced persistent threats by migrating from basic user ID/password access to two-factor authentication. However, the time, complexity, and resource requirements to do so can be daunting,” said Vijay Takanti, Exostar’s Vice President of Security and Collaboration Solutions. “With FIS and the SAME-ID program, manufacturers and their suppliers reap the benefits, while Exostar relieves them of all the operations, administration and maintenance burdens.”
