Innovative Solutions & Support Flight Management System in Operation on Eclipse Twin-Engine Jet
EXTON, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Innovative Solutions & Support, Inc. (IS&S) (NASDAQ:ISSC) announced today that its Flight Management System (FMS) is in operation on the Eclipse Aerospace Twin-Engine Jet.
“The Avio IFMS avionics suite is one of the most advanced cockpits available on any aircraft. The thirteen microprocessors in the IS&S displays control all major aircraft systems. Improvements to e-Chart, mapping, and satellite weather functionality along with FMS precision navigation give the Eclipse Twin-Engine Jet unrivaled performance.”
The IS&S developed FMS and dual WAAS/SBAS Beta-3 GPS receivers are approved to TSO C-146c and TSO C-145c respectively. The system received Type 2 LOA in compliance with AC20-153A and RTCA DO-200A navigation data.

- Automated Airway Entry
- Coupled Offsets
The E-chart feature is enhanced to allow selection from a list of applicable charts based on the flight plan and to view nearest airports. Charts may be overlaid on the moving map to improve situational awareness.
The update includes improved Mapping functions such as:
- Overlay of Flight Plan
- Airspaces
- Airways (both High and Low)
- Runway Depictions
- Navigation Aids
- Intersections
XM satellite weather data display has been expanded to depict:
- Airport information and local weather
- Canadian NEXRAD
- METARs
- TAFs
- Graphical presentation of freezing levels and winds aloft
Flight Management data is presented on the Avio IFMS MFD, a high resolution 15” LCD multifunction display in detailed text as well as graphically on the moving map. The intuitive user interface provides the pilot with simplified data entry through integrated bezel pushbuttons and encoders as well as the externally mounted keyboard.
Eclipse Aerospace is offering the Integrated Flight Management System as part of the Total Eclipse package.
