Jaguar Freight Services Adds Jonathan B. “Griff” Griffith to Its Global Sales Organization
VALLEY STREAM, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jaguar Freight Services, a leader at designing and managing custom transportation systems and strategies that transform logistics and shipping services into a world-class supply chain solution, has taken a bold and innovative step to serve cosmetics and personal care clients by adding Jonathan B. “Griff” Griffith to the company’s sales organization. A former Director of Purchasing at Elizabeth Arden (a prestige beauty products company with brands sold in more than 100 countries), Mr. Griffith will join Jaguar in New York effective June 15, 2011.
“Jaguar Freight is privileged to provide custom approaches to meet the complex supply chain requirements of leading cosmetics, health and beauty companies, and the addition of “Griff”
“Jaguar Freight is privileged to provide custom approaches to meet the complex supply chain requirements of leading cosmetics, health and beauty companies, and the addition of “Griff” enhances our ability to serve them,” said Simon Kaye, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Jaguar Freight Services. “For more than 30 years he has been deeply involved in high-level supply and purchasing activities at Elizabeth Arden and other leading industry companies. His knowledge of and contacts in the highest executive levels of the cosmetics sector will bring Jaguar Freight the kind of market insight that will enable us to better serve our customers.”
“With global sales of more than $200 billion, cosmetics and personal care products present one of the most complex global freight forwarding challenges of any industry,” Kaye continued. “Griff not only understands supply chain management, he has in-depth logistics and purchasing knowledge as it relates to the global cosmetics industry itself. He brings to us an industry focus that dramatically advances the paradigm by which we meet cosmetics customer needs. It furthers our value proposition as a service provider that knows cosmetics and understands the industry’s freight requirements. The game-changing addition of “Griff” to our sales team adds further credibility and capability to Jaguar Freight’s industry focus.”
Mr. Griffith entered the personal care industry in the early 1970s by joining the purchasing department of Mennen Company in Morristown, New Jersey, following his honorable discharge from service in the United States Army (which included one year of duty in Vietnam). He also held purchasing positions with Chesebrough-Pond's Inc. and Unilever before coming to Elizabeth Arden in 1998. He retired as the company’s Director of Purchasing in 2008, and in 2009 started Griffith Packaging LLC as a global product sales organization. Mr. Griffith attended Tusculum College and Montclair State University.
Throughout its global organization, Jaguar Freight provides fully integrated door-to-door supply-chain solutions, which its customers experience through their proprietary CyberTraxTM 2.0 real time, online information and supply-chain management system that provides Transportation Management System (TMS) functionalities around the clock at substantially less cost than a conventional TMS. This sophisticated IT approach helps clients source production materials and get finished goods to market faster, cheaper and with greater efficiency. Jaguar Freight has a global client list that ranges from blue chip multinational corporations to small specialist businesses that include manufacturers and distributors of cosmetic, health, packaging, fashion, and food products.
