KNUTSFORD, England, June 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --
Leading IFE specialists will provide movies, TV shows, music and technical services to Kenya's largest airline and national flag carrier.
Leading in-flight entertainment (IFE) supplier, IFE Services, today announced that it has been chosen by Kenya Airways to provide all in-flight entertainment (IFE) services.
From July this year, IFE Services will supply Kenya's national flag carrier with a wide selection of the latest Hollywood Blockbusters and classic movies as well as regional films from India and Africa. The IFE package will also include a broad selection of TV programmes with genres covering sports, comedies, dramas, business and documentaries. In addition, passengers will be able to enjoy a broad variety of African music as well as jazz, dancehall, easy listening, classical, rock, pop and R&B tracks.
The specially tailored in-flight entertainment content for Kenya Airways will run on a combination of IFE systems across the airline's entire fleet. They include the Rockwell Collins dTES audio video on-demand (AVOD) platform as well as overhead and personal TV (PTV) systems on the airline's fleet of B777s, B767s and B737s. IFE Services will also handle all of Kenya Airways' digital encoding and AVOD management requirements.
"Adding such a prestigious and successful airline as Kenya Airways to our client base is tremendous news for IFE Services," said Andy McEwan, Managing Director of IFE Services. "Africa is a key market for us and a region we know well having successfully worked with many other airlines there over the years."
