SST Air & Orlando Sanford Airport Announce Nonstop Service to Brazil
SANFORD, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) and Orlando-based SST Air announce the start of seasonal nonstop services to both Sao Paulo and Brasilia, Brazil beginning June 30, 2011 through August 1, 2011. SST Air is offering introductory fares as low as $499.00 roundtrip plus taxes.
“Our passenger base has long awaited the return of flights to South America from Sanford, and we anticipate a tremendous amount of local interest in SST’s outbound flights to Brazil.”
The SST Air service marks the first time regular services to Brazil have been available from Orlando Sanford. Flight time varies, but generally depart Orlando Sanford in the afternoon and return the following morning using a 232-seat Boeing 767 flown by Vision Airline based outside Atlanta, Georgia. Primary ridership using this new service is expected to be Brazilians coming to vacation in Central Florida, however, local residents may also book roundtrip travel originating at Orlando Sanford through 407-288-8820.
Shane Schunk, President of SST Air commented on the start of its operation from Orlando Sanford, “We are excited to launch these flights this summer and are working very hard both here and in Brazil to ensure we get this off to a strong start. Since Orlando is also home to SST Air, and as a resident of Central Florida myself, I know our customers, both Brazilian and Floridian, will love the straight forward and simple nature of flying through Orlando Sanford. It’s the ideal situation, Sanford feels like a small-town airport, but it has all the services and amenities you normally only expect from larger airports.”
According to Larry Dale, President of Orlando Sanford International Airport, the Sanford airport enthusiastically welcomes the advent of SST Air, “Our passenger base has long awaited the return of flights to South America from Sanford, and we anticipate a tremendous amount of local interest in SST’s outbound flights to Brazil.”
Orlando Sanford International Airport offers visitors and Central Floridians alike, the “Best of Both Worlds,” located midway between Orlando’s World Class attractions and the World’s Most Famous Beach - Daytona Beach, both are only 45 minutes away. Airlines and their passengers enjoy a stress-free environment, convenient parking, new terminal facilities, short walking distances, and attractive pricing.
