UPS Freight Sets Faster Transit Times on 181 Lanes from Vancouver to U.S.

RICHMOND, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--For the second time in less than a year, UPS Freight, the heavy freight arm of UPS (NYSE:UPS), has improved transit times from a key western Canadian market to cities in the United States.

“UPS is committed to doing everything it can to enable and simplify global trade, including the efficient movement of cross-border LTL shipments between the United States and its largest trading partner, Canada”

The transit time enhancements cover 181 lanes from Vancouver, British Columbia, to U.S. cities in the Midwest and Northeast and generally reduce established transit times by at least one full day.

“UPS is committed to doing everything it can to enable and simplify global trade, including the efficient movement of cross-border LTL shipments between the United States and its largest trading partner, Canada,” said UPS Freight President Jack Holmes. “We’re going to continue looking for ways to support the Canadian business community in further developing its trade with the U.S.”

Since 2009, UPS Freight has reduced transit times on more than 1,200 lanes running between Canada and the U.S. Last November, UPS Freight announced a host of improved transit times affecting shipments moving from U.S. cities to Calgary and Edmonton.

UPS Freight shipments moving across the border under the company’s current 525 Tariff are covered by a no-fee delivery guarantee. In addition, UPS customers can manage, track and process both their small package and LTL shipments through the same WorldShip and Quantum View Manage technology, creating operating efficiencies for their business.

UPS Freight, one of the largest less-than-truckload carriers in the United States and a leading truckload service provider, serves customers throughout North America, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands. For more information, visit upsfreight.com.
