Daylight Defense Laser System Verified To Defeat Heat Seeking Missile Threats During IRCM Testing
Dépèche transmise le 5 juillet 2011 par Business Wire
SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Daylight Defense, LLC (Daylight), a wholly owned subsidiary of Daylight Solutions, Inc., today announced the recent successful testing of the company’s JammIR™ laser system by the U.S. Air Force.
“We are pleased to see that our JammIR™ laser products continue to experience success in Government tests”
Throughout the test program, the Quantum Cascade Laser (QCL) based system from Daylight was evaluated against multiple missile threats and over several hundred test events. As witnessed by a broad audience of U.S. Government and industry stakeholders, the JammIR™ laser system consistently defeated these threats in all tests. These results closely follow recent announcements of several successful environmental and flight tests of the company’s JammIR™ laser product line by the U.S. Navy and other prime contractors.
With this most recent set of Government witnessed tests, the capabilities of Daylight’s QCL based JammIR™ laser systems have now been validated to protect both large aircraft as well as smaller fixed and rotary wing aircraft against missile threats, such as man portable air defense systems (MANPADS).
“We are pleased to see that our JammIR™ laser products continue to experience success in Government tests,” said company CEO Dr. Timothy Day. “We are proud to continue providing our support in demonstrating the effectiveness of our JammIR™ products against missile threats, and we look forward to continuing to bring these best-of-breed capabilities to the warfighter.”
