Donaldson Earns Governor's Safety Award
MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Donaldson Company (NYSE:DCI), a leading worldwide designer and manufacturer of filtration systems and parts, is pleased to announce that the Kentucky Labor Cabinet has awarded the Governor’s Safety and Health Award to the Company’s Nicholasville, Kentucky plant for the second year.
“At Donaldson, we employ best practices designed to improve safety performance throughout our organization”
“The Labor Cabinet recognizes employers who operate exemplary safety and health management systems and are committed to making safety for employees a priority,” said Mark Brown, secretary of the Kentucky Labor Cabinet, who presented the award to company officials during a ceremony at the Nicholasville facility. “Creating a culture of a safe work environment and seeking the best methods of worker safety and health are important tasks. I am delighted to recognize Donaldson’s significant achievements in safety.”
The award, known as the Governor’s Safety and Health Award, provides special recognition for outstanding safety and health performance and encourages development of programs designed to reduce and even eliminate occupational injuries and illnesses. The Governor’s Safety and Health Award is given to employers and their employees, who together have achieved the minimum required number of hours worked without experiencing a lost-time injury or illness at their establishment.
“This award demonstrates our continued commitment to creating and maintaining a safe work environment for our employees,” stated Tony James, Donaldson Nicholasville Plant Manager. “For the past three years, our 240 employees worked over 1.2 million hours without a single Lost Time Incident. This translates into higher productivity and employee morale in the workplace. Congratulations to our team for achieving this high honor.”
“At Donaldson, we employ best practices designed to improve safety performance throughout our organization,” said Don Bezek, manager - Environmental, Health and Safety, at Donaldson Company. “We congratulate our employees at the Nicholasville Plant for once again receiving the Governor’s Safety and Health Award.”
Every establishment within the geographical boundaries of the state of Kentucky is eligible for this award. An establishment may qualify for the award if its employees together achieved the required number of hours worked without experiencing a lost-time injury or illness. During 2010-2011 there were only 37 companies who received the award.
