Online travel specialist travelmatch.co.uk [http://www.travelmatch.co.uk is reporting seeing an unexpected sudden climb in searches from its customers for holidays to Cyprus since the start of June. They are putting this down to the unseasonably poor weather conditions in early June which inspired customers to head for warmer climes.
Alex Francis of travelmatch.co.uk comments: "May was a particularly blustery month, but it was dry and warm -- many Brits were hoping a gorgeous summer would follow. Instead, June brought torrential rain and thunderstorms and we noticed a swift jump in the number of customers searching for holidays in Cyprus [http://www.travelmatch.co.uk/holidays/cyprus-holidays.html ] and other warm European states that coincided with the worst of June's weather."
Cyprus wasn't the only country to see a spike in customer searches as Turkey also saw a significant increase in total searches in mid-June, with high quality four star hotels such as Hotel Baia [http://www.travelmatch.co.uk/holidays/detail/hotel-baia-lara-lara-beach.html in Lara Beach attracting particular focus. Holidays, flights and hotels in this part of the world have received a particularly high amount of attention from visitors to the Travelmatch website and the company are predicting this trend will continue throughout July.
Francis continues: "With organisations such as WeatherOnline [http://www.weatheronline.co.uk ] predicting that a cool, wet summer is on the cards for the UK, we are expecting these search trends will continue as Brits looking out the window on rainy days will long to escape to the beautiful beaches of Cyprus."
