WSP Environment & Energy Launch Remediation Business
SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Environmental consultancy, WSP Environment & Energy today announces the launch of a new business operation in North America called WSP Remediation to deliver specialist turnkey environmental remediation and construction services.
“I am delighted to join an organization with the track record and history of WSP. The team at WSP has 25 years of experience in land restoration and ground engineering and is widely regarded for their design of successful and innovative remediation solutions on major industrial sites across America.”
The new business operation is led by Bob Bealkowski , General Manager for WSP Remediation, based in San Jose, CA. WSP has also made two significant industry hires to work with Bob in leading the new Remediation business. Asa Cosby joins WSP Remediation as Director of Remediation with Chris Edwards, both formerly worked for A&J Environmental.
Bob has over 20 years of experience in environmental consulting, including 18 with WSP, advising clients nationwide in respect of contaminated sites, environmental obligations and site clean-up; he explains the relevance of this new operation: “Our new WSP Remediation business will construct and manage remedial solutions. This turnkey approach means that WSP is able to advise clients who have contamination at existing or legacy sites and facilities and work with them from an initial investigation stage through to the design and implementation of remedial solutions, and ultimately the successful closure of the matter.”
New hire, Asa Cosby, is a licensed professional contractor and a Class A Hazardous General Engineering Contractor. He has over 20 years of experience in estimating remedial costs and delivering contractor services to implement remedial actions for soil and groundwater affected by petroleum hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, PCBs, lead, chromium and other hazardous constituents.
Speaking about his appointment Asa said: “I am delighted to join an organization with the track record and history of WSP. The team at WSP has 25 years of experience in land restoration and ground engineering and is widely regarded for their design of successful and innovative remediation solutions on major industrial sites across America.”
WSP Remediation will offer its clients a range of activities. These include the installation and operation of soil vapor extraction systems and groundwater treatment systems; landfill capping and closure; earth works; demolition; above ground and underground tank removal and installation; tank clearing; and facility decontamination.
Bob says that the benefit WSP’s clients will get from the new Remediation operation is the consistency in approach on a contaminated site: “Clients want the peace of mind that the team analyzing the site contamination issues is closely aligned to the team managing the clean-up. The development of our specialist Remediation operation enables us to offer this full service. The challenges that arise with unknown factors and changing conditions across a site will be shared and discussed within our specialist teams and resolved for our clients; they are not left unrecognized as can be the case when multiple contractors are engaged on a whole project.”
