PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Michael Baker Jr., Inc., an engineering unit of Michael Baker Corporation (NYSE Amex: BKR), has been awarded a $1.2 million task order by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Mobile District for airfield obstruction surveying and mapping services for four Air Force Reserve bases under the Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC). Services specific to this task order include geodetic control surveys, aerial LiDAR topographic and planimetric surveys, photogrammetric mapping, airfield approach/departure obstruction analysis, E-Tab mapping updates, 3D modeling of base facilities, Geo-Base updates, and development of a tree management plan.
Baker’s Aaron Morris, assistant vice president of geospatial information technology, said, “We’re extremely pleased to continue our support of our military’s mission. This project allows the AFRC to leverage Baker’s multidiscipline environment to effectively enhance safe airfield operations and increase flight safety.”
“This task order award indicates that our U.S. Air Force clients are following through with plans to protect the integrity of their installations by proactively managing encroachment,” added Baker’s Bill Macon, assistant vice president and Air Force account principal. “These projects also help ensure a safe environment for aircrews operating at these bases.”
