Automotive Finishing Company Selects IQMS’ Industry Specific Manufacturing ERP Solution
Dépèche transmise le 28 septembre 2011 par Business Wire
PASO ROBLES, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--IQMS, designer and developer of manufacturing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, today announced that it has been chosen by automotive components finisher, Lakeland Finishing Corporation, for its software’s superior inventory traceability and company-wide synergy with Lakeland Finishing’s current manufacturing processes. Customer references and a strong reputation in the automotive industry were the deciding factors in the selection of IQMS over competitors Epicor, Infor and Plex.
“We felt from the beginning that IQMS had Lakeland Finishing’s best interests in mind in the selection of the right ERP system for our business and processes”
Lakeland Finishing Corporation is a wet coating applicator of solvent and waterborne systems on exterior and interior automotive components. Under its previous ERP system, Lakeland Finishing was experiencing challenges in planning its raw material needs across growing customer and part number lists. Exciting company growth was restricted by the old software’s limitations, so traceability, labeling and shipping accuracy were “must-haves” when selecting a new ERP system.
“We felt from the beginning that IQMS had Lakeland Finishing’s best interests in mind in the selection of the right ERP system for our business and processes,” said Thomas Smith, president of Lakeland Finishing Corporation.
With 12 spray booths situated around three separate conveyor lines, Lakeland Finishing handles a variety of projects requiring variable resource requirements. Lakeland Finishing plans to utilize IQMS’ forecasting tools to improve decision making and increase visibility for better scheduling and capacity planning. Additionally, Lakeland’s major OEM clients (including Volvo, Chrysler, Toyota, GM, Honda, Ford and Nissan) require a comprehensive Electronic Data Interface (EDI) system in order to conduct business. IQMS’ efficient and accurate EDI module is completely embedded into the core system, eliminating the need for third-party translation software.
“The automotive industry has increasingly demanding standards when it comes to compliance traceability and scheduling accuracy,” said Glenn Nowak, vice president of IQMS. “Unlike some one-size-fits-all ERP packages, IQMS offers industry specific solutions to automotive manufacturers to help them remain competitive.”
