Access America Wins National Travel Industry Award for the Third Year in a Row
Dépèche transmise le 4 octobre 2011 par Business Wire
RICHMOND, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--For the third year in a row, Access America, the U.S. travel insurance and assistance brand of Mondial Assistance USA, was honored by Travel Weekly, the travel industry’s most influential national trade publication. The company was presented two Travel Weekly Magellan Awards—a gold medal in the Travel Agent Innovation category for its online agency onboarding system and a silver medal in the Travel Insurance category for its retail product portfolio re-launch.
“The recipients of the Magellans truly represent the best of the industry, and their accomplishments are inspiring.”
Access America utilized streamlined processes and improved technology to reduce the time it takes for a new travel agent partner to sell their first travel insurance policy from as many as 15 days to just one day. That’s a 93 percent reduction in start up time, a change that has greatly accelerated revenue both for the company and for the travel agents that sell Access America travel insurance.
The retail product portfolio re-launch introduced changes and enhancements to the core set of travel insurance products sold by travel agents, simplifying the products and making them more useful to travelers and more profitable to travel agents. The changes came from extensive research and interviews of travel agents and consumers conducted by the Access America product team.
Access America has now won three silver and one gold Travel Weekly Magellan Awards in the past three years.
The Travel Weekly Magellan Awards honor the best in travel and salute outstanding travel professionals in a broad range of industry segments, including hotels and resorts, travel destinations, cruise lines, online travel services, airlines and airports, travel agents and agencies, tour operators, and car rental companies.
“We take pride in being recognized by Travel Weekly, just as we take pride in creating efficient processes and technologies that make the jobs of travel agents easier,” said Beth Godlin, managing director of Mondial Assistance USA. “Being recognized amongst our peers in the travel industry drives us to continually innovate and seek new ways to improve our products and service.”
The Magellan Awards are judged and overseen by a one-of-a-kind panel of top travel professionals representing the best names and most accomplished leaders from the industry. In determining winners, entries do not compete with one another, instead they are judged against a standard of excellence based on the long experience of Travel Weekly. To uphold this high standard of excellence, a category may have multiple winners, or may have no winners at all.
"This year's Magellan Award winners have once again impressed the judges with their creativity and sense of style," said Arnie Weissmann, editor-in-chief of Travel Weekly. He added, "The recipients of the Magellans truly represent the best of the industry, and their accomplishments are inspiring."
