LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AECOM Technology Corporation, a leading provider of professional technical and management support services for government and commercial clients around the world, announced today that Jeffrey P. Parsons will join the company as vice president, federal programs, for its federal services organization on Nov. 1, 2011.
“We are very pleased to welcome Jeff to AECOM”
In this role, Parsons will work closely with AECOM senior management in growing the company’s presence in Washington and increasing the company’s brand visibility with government agencies. In addition, he will serve as an active member of AECOM’s Federal Services Group supporting various initiatives, such as the company’s strategic growth plan, AECOM’s Ethics and Compliance programs, and improving a broad range of business systems.
“We are very pleased to welcome Jeff to AECOM,” said Al Konvicka, chief executive, Federal Services Group. “His robust U.S. government contracting experience and accomplished leadership skills will add significant value to the company’s government growth efforts.”
With more than 30 years of experience in contracting and procurement for the U.S. government, Parsons has successfully led military and civilian organizations around the world. With strong government relationships, he has helped develop and drive contracting policies and processes for efforts such as the U.S. Air Force weapons systems program.
Prior to AECOM, Parsons served as executive director for the U.S. Army Contracting Command, a major subordinate command of the U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC). There, he oversaw 5,500 personnel who awarded and managed more than 210,000 contractual actions worldwide, valued at more than US$92 billion per fiscal year. Before that, Parsons was the director of contracting for the Office of Command Contracting Headquarters at AMC.
Parsons received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia and holds two master’s degrees — one in administration with a concentration in procurement and contracting from George Washington University in Washington and the other in national resource strategy from the National Defense University. He is a graduate of the Industrial College of the Armed Forces and the Defense Systems Management College Executive Program Management Course. Parsons holds the Acquisition Professional Development Program’s highest certifications in contracting and program management. He also is a certified Professional Contracts Manager, per the National Contract Management Association.
