Jet fuel is supplied from Q8's Milazzo refinery in Sicily, which is operated as a joint venture with ENI, and refined from Kuwait crude oil supplied by Q8Aviation's parent company Kuwait Petroleum Corporation. Into plane services at Catania Airport are provided by Carboil.
Toby Simmons, Sales & Marketing Manager for Q8Aviation, says: "We are delighted to win this important contract with easyJet at Catania which, together with our recent launch at Verona Airport, strengthens our portfolio of airports in Italy. By providing Kuwaiti fuel from our Milazzo refinery, this new service is in line with our strategy of strengthening our supply chain so that our customers can rely on an efficient and secure source of fuel from Q8."
Catania Airport is located around four kilometres from Catania, Sicily's second largest city. Recording more than six million passengers in 2010, it is Sicily's largest airport. Q8Aviation already provides a jet fuel service at Palermo and Trapani airports in Sicily, and has a very strong presence in Italy with a network of 20 international and regional airports.
