Rockwell Collins Unveils New Mobile Application and Flight Operations Dashboard for Ascend™ Flight Information Solutions
Dépèche transmise le 9 octobre 2011 par Business Wire
LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Rockwell Collins today introduced new mobile and online applications for its Ascend™ flight information solutions – including the Ascend Flight Manager™ application (app) for the iPad® and Ascend Dashboard integrated desktop solution. The new offerings give business aircraft operators global access to the only complete, fully integrated information management solution that seamlessly streamlines all aspects of flight operations from preflight scheduling, to flight planning, to closeouts.
“The integration of Flight Manager and FOS brings flight operations to a whole new level – one that equates to significant cost savings and efficiency gains from less fuel burn, more precise flight routes, and the elimination of hard copy aircraft and crew logs”
“These enhancements elevate the unique advantage that Ascend brings to flight departments, especially as flight operations become increasingly more complex,” said Steve Timm, vice president and general manager, Flight Information Solutions for Rockwell Collins. “Ascend’s globally accessible, integrated applications and services enable seamless information flow to ensure high levels of aircraft availability and predictable flight operations.”
The new Ascend Flight Manager iPad app provides direct access to the Ascend Flight Manager online performance-based flight planning tool, while adding the strength of the Ascend Flight Operations System (FOS®) schedule and dispatch solution for time-saving, paperless operations. Also, the app’s innovative electronic expense report feature allows users to take pictures of receipts and immediately submit them electronically for greater workflow efficiency.
“The integration of Flight Manager and FOS brings flight operations to a whole new level – one that equates to significant cost savings and efficiency gains from less fuel burn, more precise flight routes, and the elimination of hard copy aircraft and crew logs,” added Timm.
Also new is the Ascend Dashboard − an integrated desktop solution for directors of Flight Operations. The Dashboard provides an at-a-glance view of all the aircraft in the fleet, current and upcoming trips, the status of electronic database updates, and fleet maintenance monitoring.
The full range of Ascend flight information solutions includes:
- FOS schedule and dispatch software
- Regional and international trip support
- Fuel pricing and service information
- Aircraft Information Manager (AIM) wireless content updates, including FMS databases
- Flight Watch for dedicated meteorologist services
- Personalized expert services such as ground handling and compliance assistance
Ascend is scalable to the size and needs of an individual flight department. Operators can select the tools and services that fit their fleets’ respective mission profile.
