Daylight Solutions’ Continued Investment in Manufacturing Infrastructure Yields Increased Capacity to Meet Customer Demand
Dépèche transmise le 15 novembre 2011 par Business Wire
SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Daylight Solutions (Daylight) today announced that the company’s ongoing strategic investment in its manufacturing capacity has resulted in a highly scalable manufacturing process for its advanced laser systems. The company will deliver its 300th Quantum Cascade Laser (QCL) based system before the end of this year, with all manufacturing completed in its ISO9001-2008 compliant facility. Daylight continues to execute on advancing its manufacturing readiness level (MRL) and quality management system to meet the needs of both its commercial and defense customers.
“This allows rapid expansion of operations to meet market demand”
The company has combined its investment in manufacturing with its best practices in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), in order to create a highly scalable “end to end” process. “This allows rapid expansion of operations to meet market demand,” says Gregg Blankenship, Sr. Director of Operations. The company’s uniquely scalable process applies to both its high precision Scientific Instrument line, as well as its ruggedized, military products.
Daylight’s investment was driven by increased opportunities from both markets, according to company officials. “Daylight is now well positioned to meet the growing demand of our commercial customers as well as the MRL and production capacity needs of the Department of Defense’s major acquisition programs such as CIRCM,” says company President and COO, Paul Larson. “We view high quality manufacturing maturity and capacity scaling as critical components to meeting the needs of the warfighter.”
To date, companies such as Lockheed Martin, DRS, Raytheon, ITT, and Northrop Grumman have joined the Navy and Air Force in utilizing Daylight’s quick-turn, highly scalable design and manufacturing capability. Daylight Solutions’ Scientific products, which are based on its patented ECqcL™ technology, continue to lead the market in broadly tunable, high precision, mid-IR solutions. The company is also the leader in the delivery of high power QCL based laser systems for defense applications. “MRL maturity combined with state of the art performance will always be a top priority at Daylight Solutions,” according to Larson.
