Emirates Orders 50 GE90-115B-Powered Boeing 777-300ER Aircrafts
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DUBAI AIR SHOW — Emirates has ordered 50 additional GE90-115B-powered Boeing 777-300ER aircraft and has also signed a 12-year OnPoint solution agreement for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of these newly ordered GE90-115B engines. The engine order list price and service agreement is valued at approximately $6 billion (USD) over the life of the contract.

GE Aviation has ramped up production of the GE90 engine over the last few years to keep pace with demand. Production of the GE90 engine involves many US sites, including:
- Asheville, NC – seals, splitter, retainers, spinner support
- Batesville, MS – Composites (fan stator, acoustic panels, fan platforms)
- Dayton, OH – Tubes, ducts, manifolds
- CFAN San Marcos, TX – Composite fan blades
- Durham, NC – engine assembly and overhaul
- Evendale, OH – design and development testing
- Greenville, SC – Turbine blades
- Hooksett, NH – Stator vanes (stationary blades) and tubes
- Lynn, MA – CD plate, combustion liner, combustion case
- Madisonville, KY – Turbine airfoils
- Peebles, OH – Final assembly and engine testing
- Rutland, VT – Airfoils (fan booster & compressor)
- Terre Haute, IN – #1 bearing housing, combustor liners, centershields for combustor assembly
- Victorville, CA – Flight testing
- West Jefferson, NC – High pressure turbine disks & shafts, compressor disks, and fan disks
- Wilmington, NC – Stage 1 high pressure turbine disk, spool, fan disk, mid seal
More than 540 GE90-115B-powered Boeing 777-200LR, 777-300ER and 777 Freighter aircraft have been ordered by 50 customers throughout the world. In addition to an unrivaled thrust rating of 115,000 pounds, the GE90-115B offers the enhanced performance and efficiency of three-dimensional, aerodynamic (3D aero) compressor airfoils and wide-chord, swept fan blades. The GE90-115B performance and efficiency, coupled with the GE90-115B dual annular combustor technology, significantly limits fuel consumption and restricts hydrocarbon emissions to 40 percent of the level permitted by current international standard.
Snecma of France, Avio SpA of Italy and IHI Corporation of Japan are revenue-sharing participants in the GE90 program.
