Dépèche transmise le 1 novembre 2011 par Business Wire
MELBOURNE, Fla. & WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, has been awarded its first task order from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to provide support services for the tracking of medication and treatment for veterans suffering from mental health disorders. The task order falls under the three-year My Recovery Plan blanket purchase agreement, which has a ceiling of $4.5 million.
“My Recovery Plan gives veterans an invaluable tool to monitor their own mental health regime, develop life goals, and stay in constant contact with their clinicians”
Launched nationwide in 2003, My HealtheVet is a free, online personal health record that empowers veterans to become informed partners in their healthcare. The My Recovery Plan application within the My HealtheVet portal provides a web-based interface that allows veterans with behavioral or mental health concerns to track important aspects of their self-care, including medication intake and self-evaluations.
Under the task order, Harris will provide support services for the Medication Monitoring and Tracking Module and the My Goals Module through requirements development, testing and implementation support. These modules allow veterans suffering from mental health disorders, including post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury, and substance abuse, to track and organize all information relevant to their recovery.
“My Recovery Plan gives veterans an invaluable tool to monitor their own mental health regime, develop life goals, and stay in constant contact with their clinicians,” said Jim Traficant, president, Harris Healthcare. “These new modules within the My HealtheVet portal will improve our veterans’ ability to recover from serious mental health disorders.”
A nationally recognized leader in federal healthcare IT integration, Harris also offers commercial providers a full range of interoperability solutions, including IT infrastructure and management, clinical workflow and analytics, health information exchange, and imaging. Harris solutions improve healthcare quality, safety, efficiency, cost and outcomes by ensuring that the right information travels, with security and privacy, to the right person, at the right time, on the right device, at the point of care.
