The Travelocity Roaming Gnome Explores the Middle East in Abu Dhabi

SOUTHLAKE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Travelocity’s Roaming Gnome® has teamed up with Etihad Airways to visit the capital and second largest city of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Abu Dhabi. Similar to nearby Dubai, Abu Dhabi is a popular tourist destination for its attractions, events, dining and hotels. The Roaming Gnome will be visiting for the third annual Formula1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the Yas Marina Circuit on Yas Island.

The Roaming Gnome departed JFK Airport in New York Thursday, November 10, enjoyed some time with his friends aboard Etihad Airways Flight 100, then put on his favorite eye mask and woke up to the pristine Persian Gulf Friday, November 11 to delight in all Abu Dhabi has to offer. Other than cheering from the sidelines at the Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix race, the Roaming Gnome stayed at the luxurious Jumeirah at Etihad Towers Hotel, ate fine cuisine and saw fellow British-celebrity Paul McCartney perform.
