Travelocity Tweets Travel Updates from the Nation’s Busiest Airports During Thanksgiving Rush

SOUTHLAKE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--During two of the busiest travel days of the year, Travelocity’s travel experts will be onsite at airports across the country to keep travelers informed about conditions. On the Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving, Travelocity’s 11th Annual Thanksgiving Task Force will be visiting with travelers, taking photos and tweeting updates on security wait times, cancellations, delays, crowd conditions and more from five of the busiest U.S. airports.

“That is why for the past 11 years we have sent our team to the nation’s airports to report live on what matters most to travelers so they can have a hassle-free travel experience.”

“Travelocity knows how stressful Thanksgiving air travel can be,” said Carl Sparks, CEO of Travelocity. “That is why for the past 11 years we have sent our team to the nation’s airports to report live on what matters most to travelers so they can have a hassle-free travel experience.”

With airlines cutting the number of flights this holiday season, the Air Transport Association says travelers should prepare for crowds and full planes. For real-time status reports, flight tracking tools and holiday travel tips, travelers can check in at The Window Seat travel blog, or follow the Travelocity airport spotters on Twitter on November 22 and 23 from the following airports:

The Travelocity Roaming Gnome himself will be joining the Thanksgiving Task Force as well providing updates and helpful travel tidbits of his own. For travelers who have their own information about travel conditions at airports, Travelocity encourages anyone to tweet along with its Thanksgiving Task Force with the hashtag #TravelocityTTF.

SPECIAL HOLIDAY OFFER:

To kick off this year’s Thanksgiving Task Force, Travelocity is offering travelers a little holiday bonus. When a traveler books a qualifying hotel or flight + hotel package by December 15, Travelocity will send a $200 travel coupon that can be used for another trip in early 2012.
