Fairfax County EDA Spotlights U.S. Opportunities for German Aerospace and Aviation Companies at Feb. 9 Seminar in Munich
FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) executives will speak at a February 9 seminar in Munich that will highlight U.S. opportunities for German aerospace and aviation companies.

The seminar, “Doing Business in USA – betriebswirtchaftliche und rechtliche Besonderheiten beim Marketintritt in den Vereinigten Staaten” (economic and legal specifics when corporations consider market entry into the United States), will be held at the headquarters of bavAIRia e.V., an association commissioned by the state of Bavaria to promote the aviation and aerospace cluster in the Munich area and Bavaria. The event is being organized by bavAIRia e.V., the FCEDA and the law firm Reed Smith, which has offices in Fairfax County and Munich.
Bernhard Schmidt, managing director, aerospace cluster, bavAIRia e.V., will open the session that will be attended by German aerospace and aviation executives. Jan Mul, director of international marketing for the FCEDA, and Guenther Stodiek, the FCEDA European office director based in Munich, will speak about Fairfax County as a technology hub and entry point for German companies that want to do business in the U.S. Michael Kuhn, Thomas Fischl and Alexander Klett of Reed Smith will discuss legal aspects of expansion into the U.S. market. More than 370 foreign-owned companies, including more than 200 from European countries, have a presence in Fairfax County. The FCEDA has had an office in Germany since 2000 and an office in London since 1998 to work with European companies interested in expanding in the U.S.
