Smiths Detection Supplies Advanced Scanners to Malaysia

SINGAPORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Smiths Detection has won contracts to supply advanced X-ray screening systems and explosives trace detectors to two major airports in Malaysia.
Penang International Airport and Kuala Lumpur International Airport Low Cost Carrier Terminal 2 (KLIA2) will be equipped with HI-SCAN detectors that can detect explosives automatically and IONSCAN table-top devices that can identify both explosives and narcotics. They will be delivered within the next year.

HI-SCAN 10080 EDtS are able to screen up to 1,800 bags per hour and automatically detect explosives. HI-SCAN 100100t-2is is a dual-view X-ray system for oversized baggage inspection. IONSCAN 500DT simultaneously detects explosives and narcotics on baggage. All these products expedite passenger and baggage screening.
