Phase Matrix Completes Development of PXI-Based RF/Microwave Upconverter/Synthesizer Modules as part of SBIR Contract

Phase Matrix, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of National Instruments (NATI), announced the 2.5 completion of a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract. The contract entails the development of a family of radio frequency (RF) and microwave upconverter/synthesizer modules in support of small form factor PXI (PCI eXtensions for Instrumentation) applications for automated test. The development effort was sponsored by NAVAIR PMA 260D. The modules are intended for use in portable and transportable synthetic-instrument test-and-measurement (T&M) systems, as well as embedded applications, for both military and commercial applications within the L to Ka microwave frequency bands. In addition to the 2.5 completion of the SBIR project, Phase Matrix is working with early adopters on the phase-three commercialization of this technology.
