When hundreds of military troops arrived this week at the Minneapolis – St. Paul International Airport (MSP), they were met by an especially enthusiastic crowd of volunteer troop greeters. The week marked a milestone for the MSP Armed Forces Service Center (AFSC), as the volunteer organization greeted its 100th arrival of flights carrying troops to and from active combat zones. The AFSC troop greeter program welcomed its first flight in 2006 and has since served over 30,000 military personnel.

Republic Airways Holdings , today reported preliminary passenger traffic results for March 2009. The company generated 871.8 million revenue passenger miles (RPMs), a 0.3% decrease from the same month last year, while available seat miles (ASMs) increased 3.9%. Block hours were 62,707 in March 2009, a 4.2% decrease from March 2008. Load factor was 73.6% versus 76.7% in March 2008. A total of 1,706,837 passengers were carried during the month, a 1.9% increase from the same month last year.
